OSCE forum in Kazakhstan will be useful: Russian president

It would be useful to hold the summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Astana upon Kazakhstan's initiative, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said at the Forum of European and Asian media today.
Medvedev said one can say only favor Kazakhstan's OSCE chairmanship in 2010," he said. "We are pleased that a friendly country chairs the OSCE. It will help the organization to find a new place."
"The OSCE is a favorable venue for cooperation," Medvedev added. "We should think about the future and the OSCE will not cover all formats of security, just as the EU and NATO do not cover," said.
Today Moscow hosts the fourth European and Asian media forum bringing together more than 150 of the world's top media managers. This year's forum was organized by state-run Russian News & Information Agency RIA Novosti.
Trend Director General Ilgar Huseynov represents the agency in the forum.
Journalists from the CIS and Baltic states will meet their Russian counterparts, representatives of government institutions, well-known politicians and public figures during plenary sessions, panel discussions, round tables and sectional work in various spheres of media.
