With regards to the Day of Commemoration of Nationwide Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Georgia conducted a series of events involving members of the public of this country, the Georgian and Azerbaijani intellectuals, the Parliament and the Government of Georgia, the embassy said.
In late November - early December, tours were organized to Azerbaijan State Erevan Drama Theater in Georgia, during which a performance "the Saviour" was displayed at Georgian State Drama Theater named after Rustaveli, which reflected Heydar Aliyev's role in Azerbaijan's re-gaining its independence.
Events were held in commemoration of Nationwide Leader on Dec. 10-11 in Marneuli, Bolnisi, Dmanisi and Gardabaniregions of Georgia, together with the administration of the Kvemo-Kartli region, which were attended by the representatives of the Georgian government, Azerbaijani community and intellectuals.
A wreath was laid to the bust of Heydar Aliyev in Tbilisi with the participation of the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia, Namik Aliyev, Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Paat Davit, the Governor of Kvemo-Kartli region David Kirkitatdze and other Georgian officials.
