Invisible ink and ultraviolet detectors have been brought from Denmark to Azerbaijan on the eve of the municipal elections.

"The district election commissions and constituencies have received invisible ink and ultraviolet detectors," Central Elections Commission (CEC) International Relations Department head Rovzat Gasimov told Trend . 

Azerbaijani municipal elections are scheduled for December 23. About 15,682 members are expected to be elected for 1,718 municipalities.

About 32,000 candidates to the municipalities have been registered in Azerbaijan. Candidates from 18 political parties have been registered.

Municipal elections were held twice in 1999 and 2004.

Gasimov said some constituencies have been provided with additional portable ballot boxes.
