The Kazakh Parliament's Senate Chairman Kassymzhomart Tokayev received Georgian new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan Paata Kalandadze.

By congratulating the head of the Georgian diplomatic mission with the appointment this position, Kassymzhomart Tokayev stressed that Kazakhstan and Georgia consistently develop their relations on principles of partnership, mutually beneficial cooperation. They are interested in further promoting the dialogue.

The development of inter-parliamentary relations is important. We should intensify the activity of cooperation groups established in the supreme legislative bodies of the two countries ", the speaker said.

The parties paid special attention to issues of cooperation within the international organizations, in particular, the OSCE. Kazakhstan will chair in this organization in a few days.

Kalandadze expressed confidence that the forthcoming chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE will be successful and fruitful. He stressed that Georgia supports Kazakhstan's initiative to hold the summit of the organization in 2010. He expressed gratitude to Tokayev for his fruitful activities aimed at developing and strengthening the international relations.
