Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) adopted a bill on "Azerbaijan's participation in peacekeeping operations" at the second reading.
"This law defines the basis, forms and rules of Azerbaijan's participation in peacekeeping operations conducted in connection with the prevention, settlement and resolution of local and regional conflicts," Siyavush Novruzov, member of the Committee on Security and Defense of Milli Majlis (MM) said today.
He said social protection of peacekeepers and their families will be ensured.
"Azerbaijan can define additional social privileges and allowances, including special rules of calculating labour experience in the period of military service for the Azerbaijani peacekeepers and their families in a specific order," MP said.
About 90 Azerbaijani peacekeepers serve in the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission in Afghanistan.
