Participation of outstanding scientists in the parliamentary elections is very important, says the head of a Public Forum "For Azerbaijan".

"Despite that the parliamentary elections have been scheduled for the end of the year, consultations are under way regarding participation in elections, and the concrete decision will be made in the spring," the head of Public Forum "For Azerbaijan" Eldar Namazov told Trend .

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be held in autumn 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005.

According to Namazov, neither the opposition nor other public organizations, participating in the parliamentary elections will be able to succeed alone. "So, it is necessary to conduct serious consultations and make conclusions from the pre-election situation," said the head of the forum.

Hamazov said that the opposition must make conclusions from mistakes made earlier. "Our goal is to take thoughtful actions, achieving maximum unity in the elections. Well-known scientists' joining the process is also very important. I think that as a result of the consultations we will be able to join the process with a single list of candidates, as it was in 2005. But we should hasten in making a decision on this issue," said Namazov.
