An Astara region resident was arrested for carrying drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan in his stomach.
Astara checkpoint officials arrested Jahangirov Hussein yesterday, Astara Region Deputy Police Chief Arzu Hajiyev told Trend . A total of 3.92 grams of heroin was found in his stomach.
According to Jahangirov, he purchased heroin in Iran.
The Astara Region Police Department launched a criminal case under Article 234.1 (Illegal Purchase or Storage of Narcotics) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
