Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili called on the compatriots not to lose ties with their homeland at the meeting with the Georgian diaspora in Canada.

There are several methods of maintaining ties with their historical motherland, he added.  In particular, he invited them to remote study of the Georgian language. The president said the modern technological offer such opportunities. He also proposed the young compatriots to rest in the camps in Georgia.

"This will enable children not to forget their native language and culture," he added.
