Protests demanding a meeting with Tsotne Gamsakhurdia were held all night in front of the Gldani prison in Tbilisi.

The reason for the action was speculations that Gamsakhurdia's condition was grave after he went on hunger strike two months ago.

Gamsakhurdia, son on first Georgian president, is accused of premeditated murder and spying for Russia.

The action was attended by supporters of the former president's widow, as well as representatives of some opposition parties.

Despite requirements, the prison administration has not allowed even his lawyer to meeting with him.

According to MP Dmitry Lordkipanidze, head of the Medical Department of the Ministry of Corrections, Probation and Legal Assistance, Gamsakhurdia refuses to take medication but his condition is stable.

The ministry's Medical Department will make a statement about Gamsakhurdia's condition today.
