Next meeting of the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO) of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) will be held in Baku March 12 under Deputy Foreign Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev's chairmanship, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Askar Abdrakhmanov said today at a briefing in Astana.
"The main purpose of the meeting is solving several issues of preparation for the CICA Third Summit of Heads of States and Governments, to be held in Istanbul June 7-9, 2010 ," Abdrakhmanov said.
According to him, during the meeting it is planned to discuss the draft Convention of the CICA on privileges and immunities, presentation of the draft of political declaration of CICA Third Summit and the concept of the Turkish chairmanship in the CICA in 2010-2012. "The agenda also includes a multilateral discussion on a range of measures in the military-political, economic and ecological dimensions, designed to strengthen security and confidence in the whole Asian continent," Abdrakhmanov stressed.
