Georgia and Italy will sign a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the fight against crime in Rome March 11.

During his Italy visit, Georgian Interior Minister Vano Merabishvili will meet with his Italian counterpart Roberto Maroni, the ministry told Trend .

The visit will take place under a program of intensive bilateral meetings between the two states, which began with the visits of ministers Grigol Vashadze and Giorgi Baramidze to Rome in February.

The agreement on combating crime will strengthen cooperation in fighting crimes and investigations, particularly in combating organized crime, terrorism, human trafficking and money laundering.

In addition, the ministers will discuss issues related to police and expert training.
