Uzbekistan plans completely reconstruct all the earthquake detection and geophysical stations in the country by 2015, a source in the Government said.

The source reminded that scientists forecast possible increase of seismic activity in the whole planet in the near future. At the same time, there is a probability of earthquakes in Uzbekistan.

In this regard, the Uzbek Government has developed a program to update the service of forecasting and earthquake warning.

Eight billion soums will be allocated for the project of reconstructing existing and creating new observational science and technology points.

In particular, 3.3 billion soums will be allocated for the reconstruction of 40 earthquake detection stations and individual observation points in 2010. Modern digital oscilloscopes and equipments for measuring the content of helium and radon will be installed at the stations, scientific earthquake detection station of the Russian and Germanic production will be purchased and assembled.

Besides, it is planned to create 24 new points of tracking the changes of the earth's crust.
