The International Olympic Committee honored the memory of the Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili.

Association of European Olympic Committees President Patrick Hickey and other members of the delegation visited the luger's family in Georgia.

John Furlong, head of the Winter Olympics Organizing Committee in Vancouver, and Renee Smith-Valde, vice president of the committee, were among the guests.

They gave a book of condolence and an insurance check to Kumaritashvili's family.

Meanwhile, Kumaritashvili's father called on the international federation to recognize the fact that his son did not become a victim of his own mistakes.

The delegation is in the ski resort Bakuriani where a sled platform is planned to be built.

A modern sports complex on par with Olympic standards will be built in Bakuriani in few years. It will be financed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze said after meeting with delegation.
