PACE Monitoring Committee rapporteur Matyas Eorsi is convinced that Georgia has the potential to become a Western country, he said after his visit to Tbilisi.
Eorsi said the country's leaders realize what they must do for Georgia to continue democratic development and ensure the holding of free elections.
"But the Council of Europe will assist," he said.
Eorsi told Georgian media that he is going to leave politics.
