Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov will visit Iran.
Mammadyarov will attend the event conducted by the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with regards to Novruz holiday, which has been given an international holiday status by U.N, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elkhan Polukhov told Trend March 26.
Mammadyarov will stay in Iran during March 27-28.
According to Polukhov, Mammadyarov will not have bilateral official meetings.
The U.N. has given an international holiday status to the Novruz holiday. In connection with that the state officials of the Novruz holiday celebrating countries have been invited to the event.
The event, which will begin March 27 in Tehran, will continue in Shiraz next day.
