Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry denied the information on soldier Vugar Panahi's murder by the commander of a military unit.

"Without any reason, evidence and proof, it is reported that as though a soldier was shot and killed by the commander of a military unit, and that before the murder, Vugar was wounded in his leg with firearm by the same commander. In fact, it is not so as reported," said head of press service of the Defence Ministry, Colonel-General Eldar Sabiroglu in his comments to the press.

Some media outlets reported that Panahi was killed by the commander of the military unit. The soldier was killed March 26 in the Mehdi village of Jabrail district by enemy bullets, said Sabiroglu.

"It's very difficult to guarantee the absence of losses in war. There are certain areas of the front, where the distance between the Azerbaijani and enemy forces is 50-100 meters. In case of violation of the ceasefire, it's impossible to manage without losses suffered by both sides. What to do, this is the reality," said the head of press service.
