Serbian President Boris Tadic will pay the first official visit to Azerbaijan May 12-13, a diplomatic source told Trend.
During the visit, prospects of cooperation at a high level and signing of several bilateral documents are expected to be mulled, Tadic said earlier in the meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador Eldar Hasanov, who also leads the country's diplomatic mission in Romania.
The meeting took place after the ambassador was introduced to the head of state.
Speaking about his upcoming visit to Azerbaijan, Tadic stressed that he would also be pleased to see Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visiting Serbia.
Azerbaijan is interested in developing cooperation with Serbia. This is evidenced by the country's decision to open an embassy in Serbia. The official opening is scheduled for May 28.
