Geneva talks Co-chair places hopes on next round of talks

Co-chair of the Geneva talks from the UN Ante Turenen met  with Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze at the Foreign Ministry of Georgia.

The meeting discussed all the issues that will be considered at the next round of the Geneva talks, Turenen said.

"We familiarized the Georgian side with the proposals listened in Sukhumi, Tskhinvali and Moscow. We expect some progress on some issues. Now we look forward to the next round," he said.

Georgia at the 11th round of the Geneva talks will put the issue of releasing arrested Georgians in Tskhinvali.

At present, eight Georgian citizens are under arrest in Tskhinvali, the director of international organizations department of Foreign Ministry of Georgia told journalists as a result of the meeting with Turenen.

According to him, work on the document, which would create conditions for a worthy and safe return of refugees to their homes will be continued during the talks.

The 11th round of the Geneva talks is scheduled for June 8.
