Former U.S. Secretary of State considers NATO-Georgian Commission activity important

Discussions were held on relations between Georgia and NATO in the Center of International Studies in Washington. According to the Georgian TV channels, former U.S. secretary of state Madeleine Albright addressed in front of the participants. She presented a report on an open policy of the Alliance.

"Expansion of NATO should be continued. The acitivity of the NATO-Georgia commission is very important, but the principle of accession remains the same," Albright said.

Albright believes those countries wishing to join the alliance, should contribute to strengthening of this organization, as "NATO is not charitable organization, it a military alliance".

According to Albright, issues of cooperation of NATO-Georgia, were considered in 1994, together with General John Malkhaz Shalikashvili.
