Azerbaijan President orders to rebuild Ajdarbey mosque in Baku
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on measures to rebuild Ajdarbey mosque in Baku on May 25, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
The mosque, built in Baku in the beginning of last century, in 1912-1913 by the famous philanthropist Ajdarbay Ashurbayov, is one of the revered religious centers in Azerbaijan. At first, this holy place as a symbol of the unity of Muslims was known as the Mosque of Ittifag.
According to the order, 3 million manat have been allocated to Baku Executive Power from the President's Reserve Fund for 2010 in this regard.
The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan is in charge of implementing the procedure of funding provided by the Order.
