It was recommended to consider the Azerbaijani Draft Military Doctrine in the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The Azerbaijani draft military doctrine has been discussed at a meeting of the Committee on Security and Defence of the Azerbaijani Parliament today.
Deputy Speaker, Chairman of the Committee on Security and Defence of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafet Askerov said that in accordance with the Azerbaijani Constitution Article 109 item 11, the document was submitted for discussion of the Azerbaijani President.
The document consists of seven sections and 75 items. It deals with protecting the individual, society and state.
The document reflected such issues as national security, military threat in the region, the facts of military aggression, military aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, real problems and challenges facing the armed forces of Azerbaijan.
The questions of the future strategy of military development, the international military cooperation, military ties, bilateral military treaties and other issues were also indicated there.
Armenia is listed as an aggressor in the doctrine.
The draft military doctrine reflected the issues of global crises, violent struggle being waged over energy resources, and separatism.
Members of the Committee on Security and Defence Zahid Oruj, Aydin Mirzazade, Sayavush Novruzov, Aydin Hasanov and Elman Mammadov participated in the meeting. They emphasized that military doctrine is a long-expected document for the public.
The draft military doctrine will be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of the Azerbaijani parliament.
