A monument to "Tomb of Turkish Unknown Soldier" has been unveiled. The foundation of the park has been laid.
"I hope that all the trees that we planted here will have the same strong roots and be as eternal as the unity and solidarity of Turkey and Azerbaijan", Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said in Shamakhi at the unveiling of "Tomb of Turkish Unknown Soldier".
The project of laying the Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship park was proposed by Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic and supported by the leadership of Azerbaijan.
"Today is a holiday for us. We want to have many such projects as the Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship park. We are ready to render any kind of support and assistance," the ambassador said.
The Ambassador, staff of the Turkish Embassy and officials of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources took part in planting saplings in the park. It is near the grave of Turkish soldier who participated in the actions of the Caucasian Islamic Army in 1918, when the Armenians committed a genocide against the Azerbaijanis.
