Today, a meeting has been held between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul, AzerTaj state news agency reported.

Satisfaction with the development of relations between our countries in all spheres was expressed at the meeting. It was noted that signing of documents related to the gas supply, will be a new phase in energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey. The importance of these documents was also noted. The two sides expressed confidence that cooperation in energy and other spheres between Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to successfully develop.

The views on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were exchanged at the meeting.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that he fully supports Turkey in connection with events in the Mediterranean Sea. He expressed his condolences over the death of Turkish civilians during these events. The President said that Azerbaijan is close to Turkey in this issue.
