Azerbaijan expresses its support for Turkey in connection with an incident that caused civilians' deaths as a result of the attack on convoy carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza and condemns Israel's actions, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said today in Istanbul, the Turkish Cihan News Agency reported.
The Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples will always support each other, he said.
"We support Turkey and would like to express our support in connection with civilians' deaths as a result of the attack on convoy carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. On my own behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people, I express sincere condolences to the Turkish people," Aliyev said.
Aliyev is attending the third Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), which began today in Istanbul.
Expressing Azerbaijan's readiness to implement obligations within regional cooperation, President Ilham Aliyev said that this interaction will help to reduce security threats. He also added that measures taken in this regard in the Asian region makes a large part of global actions in the world. Aliyev also said that he condemns terrorism in all its forms.
"There is no good or bad terrorism. It's necessary to unite our efforts in combating terrorism and its consequences," Aliyev said.
