Azerbaijan, Baku, June 10 / Trend, K. Zerbaliyeva /

Head of the OSCE Office in Baku called for a mutual agreement on the issue of freedom of assembly in Azerbaijan.

"Certain works will be done in this direction. The situation in connection with freedom of assembly is the result of misunderstandings of the sides, it is necessary to clarify this issue," the OSCE Baku Office Head Ali Bilge Cankorel said today.

Azerbaijani opposition parties support organizing protest action on the central streets of the city, refusing to conduct mass actions in suitable places of Baku, which are allocated by Baku Executive Power for this purpose.

The executive body and the opposition express opposite views on the issue, Cankorel said.

"It is therefore important to adopt standards that satisfy both sides. We will intensify works in this direction," Cankorel said.
Cankorel reminded about his recent meeting with Baku Executive Power head Hajibala Abutalibov, stressing that joint work will be carried out in this direction.
