Forum of GUAM Youth Leaders starts in Baku

Forum of GUAM Youth Leaders today has started in Baku. The main purpose of the forum is to discuss future directions of the international youth cooperation within GUAM and coordination of joint activities.
According to the organization's Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili, young people's communication within GUAM will help to develop promising projects and programs that will be implemented both in the GUAM, and "GUAM+" format
"GUAM has good relations with our partners - Japan, USA and the Czech Republic, which will promote to implement youth programs within GUAM," Chechelashvili told journalists today.
According to the Azerbaijani Deputy Youth and Sport Minister Intigam Babayev, within the Forum working groups will discuss prospects of cooperation for more effective implementation of programs.
"The forum will discuss the role of youth of the GUAM countries in resolving frozen conflicts, including Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," Babayev said.
Discussions will be held between state agencies, and youth organizations, Babayev said.
The first summit of the Forum was held March 9-12, 2006 in the capital of Moldova.
