Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov signed an order to establish secondary vocational schools in the country.

Based on the decree, the ministries and branch-wise agencies are allowed to create secondary vocational schools on the basis of initial vocational schools in the prescribed manner.

The schools will be established at the ministries of construction, energy and industry, agriculture and state concerns Turkmenneftegazstroy and Turkmengaz. The relevant changes will be incorporated into the national legislation.

The relevant structures are tasked to prepare and adopt regulations on the established schools in a month to in the consultation with the Education Ministry.

The relevant agencies will train the specialists depending on the specific jobs and on the basis of training programs designed for 2-2.5 years, which will begin in the 2010-2011 academic year. The students will undergo practical training at leading enterprises of the country.
