President: Iran temporarily freezes negotiations with "5+1" countries (URGENT)
Tehran freezes talks on its nuclear program with the "5 +1" countries by the end of August, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, whose speech was broadcasted alive on IRINN television.
Iran's president put forward conditions for the continuation of negotiations on Iran's nuclear development program. One of the conditions Ahmadinejad called the clear definition of the parties' positions on the Israeli nuclear program, about which Israel keeps silence, and the commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
In addition, according to the Iranian president, the composition of the negotiating commission of "5 +1" should be changed or expanded to other countries, which must declare its intention to negotiate by force or through diplomacy.
Tehran will negotiate on the basis of the reaction of these countries to the above-mentioned conditions, said Ahmadinejad.
"These conditions are not an obstacle to negotiations, but form a path for their conduct. The subject of the negotiations should be the common challenges that are reflected in the letter from Iran to the IAEA," said the President.
