Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov gave an interview to "Open Central Asia," the Azerbaijani Embassy in the UK told Trend.

The ambassador spoke about the relations between Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as the activities undertaken to promote business ties between London and Baku. He added that the activities of the British-Azerbaijan Business Council and trade mission visits will provide a significant impetus to futhering business ties between the two countries.

The ambassador also spoke about Azerbaijan's energy potential. He noted that Azerbaijan has a multi-pronged energy export infrastructure. The country has increased its weight in energy supplies, not only in the region, but also for Europe, he said. The ambassador stressed that transportation projects to restore the ancient Silk Road, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway, will have a positive impact on the transportation of goods between the Far East and the West.

He also stated that the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains the biggest source of instability in the region, adding that a peaceful solution is important.
