New political forces are expected to join the opposition Musavat party and the Union for Democracy, Azadlig Party leader Ahmad Oruj told Trend today.

He said the eighth round of talks between Musavat and the union were held June 30. The sides discussed cooperation within the opposition.

"Several political parties approached us to discuss joint activities during the elections, but I cannot say the parties reached any specific decisions," Oruj said.

During the talks, the sides considered the idea of jointly supporting candidates, Oruj said. Musavat and the union have already decided to jointly support 20 candidates, he added.

Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan Nov. 7, 2010. Previous elections were held in November 2005. The elections are held according to the majority system in Azerbaijan's 125 constituencies.

Oruj said the sides also discussed holding a mass rally July 3.
