Turkish President Abdullah Gul will visit Ashgabat in October.
"I am confident that the upcoming official visit to Turkmenistan will be very helpful in terms of further expanding existing relations and defining new areas of cooperation," Gul wrote in a letter to his Turkmen counterpart Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov.
Gul expressed "confidence" that the "visit will contribute to developing a partnership between the friendly and brotherly Turkey and Turkmenistan on the bilateral and regional levels."
The letter also emphasized that Ankara "attaches great importance to the friendly, brotherly and partnership relations with Turkmenistan, the origins of which date back to the aboriginal community of languages, cultures and beliefs."
