Cooperation projects between Azerbaijan and Austria and bilateral visits planned for the nearest future on Friday were discussed by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Austria Fuad Ismayilov during a brief meeting with the new president of this country Heinz Fischer.
Austrian President Heinz Fischer has begun today to execute the second term in connection with the re-election.
"Heinz Fischer delivered a speech at the ceremony on the priorities of Austria's foreign policy, relations with international organizations. Then he met with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Austria, including Azerbaijani ambassador. There was a brief meeting with President of Austria, during which I conveyed greetings to Heinz Fischer from the Azerbaijani leadership on the occasion of his re-election, " Fuad Ismayilov told Trend. Views on cooperation projects between the two countries and bilateral visits planned for the nearest future were exchanged.
Heinz Fischer was elected to the post of Federal President of Austria April 25. About 79.33 percent of voters who took part in the vote supported him. The term of office of the Austrian president is six years, renewable.
