Rapporteurs of the CE Parliamentary Assembly, Michael Jensen and Kastriot Islami met today with representatives of Georgian non-governmental organizations and focused on five main issues.
PACE rapporteurs meet with Georgian NGOs

Rapporteurs of the CE Parliamentary Assembly, Michael Jensen and Kastriot Islami met today with representatives of Georgian non-governmental organizations and focused on five main issues.

Islami said that they are mainly interested in the position of the media, anti-corruption issues, protection of human rights, judicial reform and the post-election situation in the country.

Islami said that it is very important for them to get first hand information.

Representatives of non-governmental sector informed PACE rapporteurs on various issues including the situation with refugees, media and political prisoners, the NGO Centre for Human Rights head Ucha Nanuashvili.

PACE rapporteurs will hold several meetings. They will hold a final briefing on the outcome of the visit to Georgia July 16.
