"Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is a great friend of Georgia and he is linked to our country by our common democratic values," Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said during a meeting with Sikorski in Batumi.

"He has long been a friend of Georgia. We are linked by friendship and I can cite the EU associate membership agreement that we are working on as an example," he said.

Saakashvili stressed that Poland and Georgia are actively cooperating with the United States.

"Poland is an exception as a country whose economy is growing, and it is very positive that Polish businessmen are interested in Georgia's economic and investment space," he said.

In turn, Sikorski noted that Saakshvili's visit to late Polish President Lech Kaczynski's funeral was very important for the Polish people.

Sikorsky has left Batumi today for Yerevan.
