Azerbaijan is not only a reliable energy exporter, but also a center of modern energy know-how, Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy (ADA) Director Hafiz Pashayev said today.
The ADA's Fourth Summer Energy School ended this week. Students and teachers from over 20 countries participated in the two-week program.
Students met with heads of the Azerbaijani foreign, industry and energy, and environment and natural resources ministries, as well as representatives of leading oil companies such as Exxon Mobil, BP, Total and Statoil. A meeting was also held with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic and the State Oil Fund.
Pashayev said this year's program was successful.
"Every year, the number of students and teachers abroad who know about Azerbaijan increases," he said. "They will become leaders in their fields, heading oil and gas companies and research centers around the world in 10-15 years. I am sure that regardless of their location they will use the knowledge that they acquired here."
