Azerbaijan President becomes familiar with territorial development plan of Baku

Ilham Aliyev got acquainted with the territorial development plan of Baku at State Town-planning and Architecture Committee on July 16, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
State Town-planning and Architecture Committee Chief Abbas Alaskarov informed the President about the implementation of the General Plan of Baku city (1986-2005).
The Head of State inquired about construction works to be carried out in streets, avenues and other sites of Baku.
President Ilham Aliyev gave concrete instructions on carrying out construction works in accordance with modern standards and preparation of proposals on new buildings.
The President said there was great potential for development of tourism in coastal areas in Baku. The Head of State added it would be better to build resort zones in coastal areas.
Then, the head of state was informed about the works to be done on the base of the three-dimensional plan of Baku center.
The President also took interest in detailed reconstruction plan for the center of capital with proposed traffic novelties, as well as the basic principles of the concept of city development by 2030.
President Ilham Aliyev was also informed about the territorial development plan of Sumqayit and Khirdalan towns.
The President gave relevant instructions and recommendations.
