Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al Sabah intends to visit Azerbaijan soon, emir said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kuwait Shahin Abdullayev, the embassy told Trend.
Emir of Kuwait said that he attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan. He is confident in the further development of bilateral relations, having deep roots, between the two countries.
The President described Azerbaijan-Kuwait relations as friendly and brotherly. He stressed that Kuwait will be always close to fraternal Azerbaijan and fruitful cooperation will continue to develop.
The meeting was held on occasion of completion of Azerbaijani Ambassador's diplomatic mission.
Emir of Kuwait thanked Shahin Abdullayev for his contribution to the development of bilateral ties.
Azerbaijani ambassador conveyed Azerbaijani president's greetings to Emir. Azerbaijan attaches special importance to cooperation with the Arab-Islamic world, including the Arab Gulf countries, including Kuwait, the ambassador said.
He said that Azerbaijan highly appreciates the clear position of Kuwait in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Kuwait's support for territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country. Azerbaijan is making every effort to actively support the issues relating to Kuwait.
