Despite that long period has passed since those events, the investigation materials contain facts that the mass clashes in 1988 in Sumgayit were organized by outside forces to form a negative image of the Azerbaijani people before the world public. This was done to prove the feasibility to separate Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan and make it as part of Armenia.

To do this, the Prosecutor General's Office requests the citizens, including legal and physical entities, to provide materials that contain information about those events, or to give testimony on these events to the investigation team.

The address of the investigation team: Azadlyg Avenue22, Baku, tel: 498-95-36, 440-78-59.
