Conducted on July 31, the rally of the Azerbaijani opposition was initiated by the Union for Democracy and the Musavat Party, chairman of Azerbaijan Classic Popular Front Party (ACPFP) Mirmahmud Miralioglu told Trend on August 5.

"Representatives of the Musavat Party and the Union for Democracy sent a joint appeal to the Baku City Executive Power in connection with the July 31 rally. The appeal from the Union was signed by representatives Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, but from Musavat - the representatives of the party. We do not know whom and when the APFP appealed. But the fact that they also participated in actions is a fact. However, conducting joint mass rally was initiated by the Union and Musavat Party, said Miralioglu.

The opposition Union for Democracy, APFP and Musavat tried to hold a mass rally on July 31 in the center of Baku. The statement made by APFP on August 4 in connection with the rally says that the rally was held on the joint initiative of APFP and Musavat. However, the statement does not mention the Union for Democracy.

According to Miralioglu, such kind of statement by APFP emanates from disorders inside the party.

"Today APFP experiences great excitement. To hide this excitement, they exert pressure on the Union. They act according to the method "if I close my eyes, then the whole world will be plunged into darkness. "They turn a blind eye and think it's dark everywhere. Nobody has the right to ruin someone else's work. We do not need either their revelation or attention," said Miralioglu.

With regards to the above-mentioned question, Trend interviewed also APFP deputy chairman for political affairs Fuad Gahramanli.

"Regarding the above-mentioned statement, I can only say that it was a rally, jointly organized by the Musavat and Popular Front parties. Simply the organization led by Mirmahmud Fattayev (Ed.: Miralioglu) joined this process from the Musavat Party because the process was open. Any organization could join this action if they wished," said Gahramanli said.

According to him, Miralioglu's claims are baseless. "All opinions on the Union's initiative are completely unfounded. This action was the decision agreed between APFP and Musavat. Simply the Union also wanted to take part in this action and joined it together with Musavat. It seems this person has already lost his role in the political processes. Not seeing himself in the political processes, he wants to declare his existence, expressing his attitude towards the work done," said Gahramanli.

According to APFP representative, Miralioglu's words aim to create intrigue.
