UEFA President Michel Platini was presented a Georgian football jersey today, Georgian Football Federation President Zviad Sichinava told Trend.
The presentation ceremony was held at the Tbilisi Marriott.
During the ceremony, the UEFA president said he recommended possibly holding the European League Finals in Tbilisi during meetings with the Tbilisi mayor and the Georgian prime minister.
Platini added that the European championships could be held for different age groups in Georgia.
"We have received promises from the country's leadership that they will implement our recommendations," he said. "We will consider the situation in the future. I do not resolve this question on my own. We will consider the issue."
Meanwhile, Sichinava said Georgia has expressed its readiness to implement all of UEFA's recommendations.
"This was stated at the prime minister's level," he said. "I think that we will make every effort to accomplish this, as such matches contribute to developing Georgian football."
Platini will fly to Chisinau today where he will take part in a celebration dedicated to 100 years of Moldovan football.
