Latvian minister launches Georgia visit

Latvian Environment Minister Raimonds Vejonis will begin a three-day official visit to Tbilisi today. Vejonis will head an official delegation, which will meet with his Georgian counterpart Goga Khachidze, the Georgian Environment and Natural Resources Ministry reported.

Latvian Environment Minister Raimonds Vejonis will begin a three-day official visit to Tbilisi today. Vejonis will head an official delegation, which will meet with his Georgian counterpart Goga Khachidze, the Georgian Environment and Natural Resources Ministry reported.

The visit aims to attract European investments to Georgian natural resource management and to familiarize the delegation with the country's natural resources and natural resources legislation.

Latvia is considered to be one of the EU's most successful countries in the forestry industry. The sides also hope to sign concrete agreements to train management.

During the visit, the Latvian delegation will be offered tours to an Adjaran nature reserve. The guests will also study Black Sea infrastructure.

The visit will end on Aug. 19.
