Azerbaijani opposition party prepares electoral list

An Azerbaijani opposition party announced today that it has partially prepared a list of candidates to take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The Umid party has already appointed candidates in 73 constituencies.
"Candidates have been appointed in 73 constituencies," Umid Deputy Chairman Anvar Agayev told Trend. "We expect to nominate candidates in several other constituencies soon at a Umid Political Council meeting."
Parliamentary elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn this year. The previous elections were held in November 2005. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
Umid was established in 1993. The Civil Solidarity Party joined Umid in 2002.
