One more party joins Azerbaijani election bloc

Green Party of Azerbaijan has joined the election bloc formed by the opposition Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) and Citizen and Development Party (CDP), CDP chairman Ali Aliyev told Trend.

Green Party of Azerbaijan has joined the election bloc formed by the opposition Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) and Citizen and Development Party (CDP), CDP chairman Ali Aliyev told Trend.

"Today we had a meeting with the chairman of the Green Party Mayis Gulaliyev. He proposed to join the established election bloc. This proposal was accepted positively by us," said Aliyev.

Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for Nov. 7. The elections are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies. 

According to Aliyev, tomorrow consultations will be conducted with the Green Party, which will cover accession to the bloc.

"Gulaliyev expressed his desire to nominate with our bloc at the constituency number 22. This proposal was also accepted by us. Our list of candidates for the constituency number 22 will include Mayis Gulaliyev as well," said Aliyev.
The opposition Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) and Citizen and Development Party (CDP) decided to establish a joint election bloc. Earlier the chairman of the Union of Azerbaijani Intelligentsia Eldaniz Guliyev also talked about accession to the bloc.
