Gang accused of premeditated murder of Azerbaijani servicemen revealed (UPDATE)

As a result of investigation and search operations conducted by the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan and the Prosecutor General's Office, were revealed and detained citizens of Azerbaijan, accused of organizing illegal armed group and killing and wounding servicemen of the military unit of the Ministry of Defence. These persons are also accused of stealing weapons belonging to this military unit in order to provide its factions with arms and ammunition, National Security Ministry's public relations department told Trend.
The prosecutor's office of Terter region launched criminal investigation on murder of soldier of the Defense Ministry's N military unit deployed in Terter, Uzeyir Elshad Khasayev, bullet wounding of sergeant Sheyubov Islam Sheyub and plundering of arms from the military unit and sent it to the Republican Military Prosecutor's Office for investigation, which was stopped on January 6, 2010 due to non-identification of the persons involved in criminal case.
Earlier more than 30 members of an armed group called "Sumgayit Jamaat" were sentenced to different terms of imprisonment by the Court of Grave Crimes on June 17, 2010. Members of the group, Mehdiyev Samir Ilgar, who was detained in Pakistan and extradited, declared wanted Misirkhanov Azer Allahverdi were also charged with separate criminal case. The investigators identified another one group "Sahil Jamaat" formed within the "Sumgayit Jamaat" together with Ilgar "Abdulmajeed" Mollajiyev and Telman "Hamzat" Abdullayev, whose inquiry was dropped. Members of "Sahil Jamaat" - Mammadov Ramin Ramiz, Mammadov Asgar Ramiz, Rahimov Vugar Atraf, Mammadov Yaver Ramiz, Jamalov Elchin Zakir, Adilov Saleh Valeh, as well as sentenced on "Sumgayit Jamaat" case Druskar Elshan Davud, Hasanov Tural Mahammad and Gaziyev Elnur Fuzuli decided to assault the post at N military unit in Terter region in December, 2008 to capture arms there. Members of the group - Asgar Mammadov, Ramin Mammadov, Elshan Druskar, Tural Hasanov, Elnur Gaziyev, Saleh Adilov, Elchin Jamalov, Vugar Rahimov and Yaver Mammadov left in Toyota Prado and VAZ 2109 for Terter. Vugar Rahimov and Yaver Mammadov stopped in Yevlakh to wait or to help them later and others arrived in Gapanli village of Terter region at night. Elshan Druska and Saleh Adilov were laying in ambush in 5 m from the post. Others approached the post. Asgar Mammadov, who served in this military unit earlier, told code word to the sentries and then they killed one of the soldiers and wounded other. They took a sniper's weapon SVD, three full cartridges, two automatic guns AKMS and its two cartridges to Baku and hided the arms behind the Vugar Rahimov's house in Umid settlement. Asgar Mammadov, Vugar Rahimov, Yaver Mammadov, Elshan Druskar, Tural Hasanov, Elnur Gaziyev and "Sahil Jamaat" leader Fuad Drusnar admitted guilt and investigation of their evidences and other factual materials confirmed the case.
Member of the armed group Ramin Mammadov was killed while he was attempting to cross the Iranian borders. He resisted the border guards and when they tried to disarm him, a grenade on his hand exploded killing him.
SVD rifle, three cartridges, two automatic guns AKMS and their two cartridges, RGD-5 grenade, military uniforms and equipments were found near Vugar Rahimov's house in Umid settlement of Garadagh district, Baku. A hand-made pistol, its cartridge, five PM bullets, sport gun, different ammunitions were found in Fuad Drusnar's house. A F-1 grenade and igniter was found near Zaman Piriyev, frame of F-1 grenade in Asgar Mammadov's house, eighteen 7.62-mm bullets and a land pot in Yaver Mammadov's house.
The General Investigative Office of the Ministry of National Security launched criminal investigation under article 279.3 (formation of illegal armed groups, assaulting the separate persons), 120.2.1, 120.2.3, 120.2.4, 120.2.11 (deliberate murder with special cruelty and dangerous methods by the criminal group), 29, 120.2.3 (attempt a life of person during duty), 29, 120.2.11 (terrorism and brigandage, attempt a man's life), 228.3 (getting, delivering and storage of arms, ammunitions, explosives), 232.3.2 (robbery of arms, explosives and ammunitions, harmful actions against a man) of the Criminal Code. The investigation is going on.
