The European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus met with opposition leaders in Azerbaijan on Tuesday.
The meeting between Peter Semneby and the chairman of the Citizens and Development Party (CDP) and the acting chairman of Azerbaijan Liberal Party (ALP) focused on parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for Nov. 7, the CDP press service said.
Semneby briefed the party chairmen on the EU's position on the run-up to the elections, the first to be held in five years. Semneby shared his impressions of recent meetings he has held with officials during his current visit to Baku.
