The prospects for Azerbaijan-U.S. cooperation were the focus of discussion in Baku on Wednesday during a visit by a top U.S. diplomat.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Tina Kaidanow, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, the foreign ministry told Trend today.
The diplomats discussed Azerbaijan- U.S. relations, the situation in the South Caucasus, the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current state of the negotiation process in that conflict.
They also exchanged views on regional and global issues.
Kaidanow arrived in Azerbaijan on Tuesday. Today, she is holding further bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani officials.
