An Azerbaijani-language version of Uzbek President Islam Karimov's book "High Spirituality - An Invincible Force" has been presented to the reading public in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the launch ceremony at Baku State University, the Uzbek ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ismatulla Irgashev, said that the translation of this book will further strengthen relations between the two countries.

"It is important to note that the presentation of the book concurs with such an important event as the visit to Uzbekistan by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which will open a new page in relations between the two countries," Irgashev said.

He said the two countries share a common spirit and one faith. The declaration of Tashkent in 2007 and Baku in 2009 as capitals of Islamic culture and civilization shows how much the international community appreciates the contributions of these peoples in world history, the diplomat said.

The book focuses on issues of globalization, the preservation of spirituality in people, and bringing up future generations, scientists and researchers in a spirit of national values.

"After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many have tried to fill the ideological vacuum, but we do not need someone else's ideology, we have our own history and spirituality," Irgashev said.

He said that Uzbekistan has always supported and will support the Azerbaijani people over the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which must be resolved by restoring Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. The Azerbaijani people can be sure that the Uzbek people will always be with them in this struggle, he added.

According to the Azerbaijani MP Eldar Ibrahimov, during Aliyev's forthcoming visit to Uzbekistan a presentation of a book about the life of the late Azerbaijani president and national leader Heydar Aliyev, the current president's father, from the series "The Lives of Outstanding People," will be made.

The launch ceremony for Karimov's book in Baku was attended by the Caucasus Muslims Department head Haji Allahshukur Pashazade and leading Azerbaijani scientific and cultural figures.
