The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) at a meeting today approved the text, form, number and rules to prepare ballots ahead of next month's parliamentary elections.
"Ballots will be prepared in accordance with the election law," Natig Mammadov, the CEC's secretary, said.
He said that the number of ballots will be 5,096. Information about candidates will be placed in alphabetical order.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
A member of New Azerbaijan Party with an advisory capacity was approved at the CEC meeting. The authorized representatives of political parties were also registered.
