International attention to Georgia should not weaken, but should become more active, Chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group Michael Kaminski said after a meeting with David Darchiashvili, the Chairman of the Committee on European Integration of the Parliament of Georgia.

The meeting discussed the Russian-Georgian relations, technical, financial and economic relations of Georgia with the European Union, associate talks, free trade and visa facilitation with the EU.

"Chairman of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group is a great friend of Georgia. He was also the late President Lech Kaczynski's closest associate. It is important that in August 2008, he with Kaczynski visited Georgia. Based on the relationships that are developing between Georgia and the EU, the partnership with both Poland and the European Union is very important, we have a lot to discuss," Darchiashvili told journalists.

Michael Kaminski also was scheduled to meet with Giorgi Arsenishvili, the Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights and Civil Integration.

Within the four-day visit the delegation will also visit the European Parliament, Kakheti and Mtskheta, and see the Art Museum of Georgia.
