Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov's official visit to Qatar is scheduled for the coming days, the Turkmen Government said.
The report says that there is "activization of relations with that friendly country, which, like Turkmenistan, is an energy power and one of the world's largest natural gas exporters."
At the last governmental meeting, the Turkmen President stressed that Turkmenistan, being committed to a policy of openness, good neighborliness and wide of constructive cooperation intends to further develop a fruitful dialogue with all interested foreign partners, including the Arab world countries.
"Today there are all prerequisites to increase interaction with the friendly Qatar, taking into account the existing impressive economic potential of partnership and mutual goodwill of the sides," he said.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani sent an invitation to visit Qatar to his Turkmen counterpart in March.
"I am confident that the meeting in Doha with Your Excellency will provide a good opportunity to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and discuss ways to develop friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries" said in Qatari head's letter.
Turkmenistan in recent years has intensified its cooperation with Arab countries, especially with UAE and Saudi Arabia.
